Have you seen the suits at The Clothes Horse?
They really are amazing. We have everything from Brooks Brothers to Kenneth Cole to St. John to Giorgio Armani...and more!

Hint: When shopping suits, there are times when you shouldn't judge on size alone. This is especially true for women. As fashion has progressed, the style of how one might wear a suit has changed (eg: with or without shoulder pads) and so has the fit. Get creative...Do you want a wider fit in the pant leg or a looser fit in the shoulder? Removing shoulder pads or rolling a sleeve can drastically change the look of a blazer. Having a tailor taper a pant leg will make your suit look like it just came down the runway. A skirt may have been made as an in-waist, above-the-knee pencil skirt, but if it fits slightly looser, then lower it on your hips and let it hit you mid-calf. The midi-skirt is huge for Fall and will be right through to Spring 2014.

outfit post: suited up!

Herewith another great outfit ensemble we were able to pull together from the Clothes Horse. Once again, it's such a pleasure being able to style the lovely Anna.

We couldn't think of a more appropriate and on-trend outfit than the navy suit. Whether you are 26 or 62, you can pull off this look. Style the suit with a basic white shirt - be it a tight tank, a loose silk blouse or a textured wool top. We used a neutral belt and shoe to keep it feeling fresh.

We had some fun styling this look with a great tangerine felt hat and added a creative finishing touch by wrapping two silk scarves around Anna's wrist.

There are a ton more suits where this one came from at the Clothes Horse - not to mention gorgeous and fun accessories that will speak to your personal style and dress taste.

Fall Festivities!

Fall is here! Let the festivities begin. The Clothes Horse has jumped in on all the fun by decking out our windows for both Harvest and Halloween. We have a whole section of costumes for children and adults, not to mention our awesome vintage finds... think Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Now that our windows are ready, we hope to catch the attention of many - especially as people gather this weekend (Saturday, October 5th) for the Park Road Parade. Are you planning to come out and enjoy? If so, be sure to stop in, see our windows in person and say "Hi!"

Fall has come to the Clothes Horse

Fall has arrived and hit the racks at the Clothes Horse! Stop by and pick up a few new (or gently used) additions for your wardrobe. We currently have a vast array of jackets and coats,  as well as some very eye-catching vintage pieces. See you soon!

More End-of-Summer Treasures

With the arrival of Labor Day, it's clear that summer is winding down, but there are still lots of late-summer-into-fall bargains to be found at the Clothes Horse! Through September 3rd, all clothing and accessories are 20% off of our regularly low prices. On September 4th and 5th, clothing and accessory prices drop to 30% off, before plummeting to half price on September 6th!  In these final days of our summer merchandise, come in and get your hunt on!

Play up the black and white trend of the summer (and the coming fall) in this graphic Ann Taylor Loft tunic. For end-of-summer ease, team it with a straw hat and strappy metallic sandals.

Take advantage of the remaining warmer days with a sundress like this khaki and white botanical print number. You can keep both your sunscreen AND a light "wrap" handy in a slightly oversized woven wicker pocketbook.

Layers will serve you well through an Indian Summer, when the temperatures rise, just as you think that Fall is certainly here. You'll be ready for anything in this embroidered blouson top, with flowy black and white pajama-inspired pants and an azure waterfall sweater vest.

It's always a good idea to stop into the Clothes Horse regularly and often, and during our Sales Weeks it's an especially good idea! You never know what treasures and bargains you'll find. And there's no telling how long the treasures will stay in the store!
