Suits of all sorts

Have you seen the suits at The Clothes Horse?
They really are amazing. We have everything from Brooks Brothers to Kenneth Cole to St. John to Giorgio Armani...and more!

Hint: When shopping suits, there are times when you shouldn't judge on size alone. This is especially true for women. As fashion has progressed, the style of how one might wear a suit has changed (eg: with or without shoulder pads) and so has the fit. Get creative...Do you want a wider fit in the pant leg or a looser fit in the shoulder? Removing shoulder pads or rolling a sleeve can drastically change the look of a blazer. Having a tailor taper a pant leg will make your suit look like it just came down the runway. A skirt may have been made as an in-waist, above-the-knee pencil skirt, but if it fits slightly looser, then lower it on your hips and let it hit you mid-calf. The midi-skirt is huge for Fall and will be right through to Spring 2014.

outfit post: suited up!

Herewith another great outfit ensemble we were able to pull together from the Clothes Horse. Once again, it's such a pleasure being able to style the lovely Anna.

We couldn't think of a more appropriate and on-trend outfit than the navy suit. Whether you are 26 or 62, you can pull off this look. Style the suit with a basic white shirt - be it a tight tank, a loose silk blouse or a textured wool top. We used a neutral belt and shoe to keep it feeling fresh.

We had some fun styling this look with a great tangerine felt hat and added a creative finishing touch by wrapping two silk scarves around Anna's wrist.

Fall Festivities!

Fall is here! Let the festivities begin. The Clothes Horse has jumped in on all the fun by decking out our windows for both Harvest and Halloween. We have a whole section of costumes for children and adults, not to mention our awesome vintage finds... think Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Now that our windows are ready, we hope to catch the attention of many - especially as people gather this weekend (Saturday, October 5th) for the Park Road Parade. Are you planning to come out and enjoy? If so, be sure to stop in, see our windows in person and say "Hi!"
